Siem Reap - Preah Kahn, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, Ta Som, East Mebon and Pre Rup Temples

Today we started at 7.30 am and it is much cooler for most of the morning.
First we visit Preah Khan Temple. To be honest I am a bit confused by my photos so I am including photos of Neak Pean as well … they just seemed to mould together.
Next time I come I will rent a scooter and do it myself … it is hard when your tour guide is not giving the best information. They promise you the world but can sometimes be very lacking.

Preah Khan was very beautiful and is surrounded by a moat and still mostly unrestored.

Neak Pean is a temple on a man made circular island.

Krol Ko Temple was across the road and within walking distance. It was a lovely walk around this area … very peaceful and shaded too.

The next temple was Ta Som. In hindsight I tried to cram too much in … it was too hot to be climbing and walking in the mid day heat. I let my driver bully me into doing all 3 days at once. Next time I will stay longer and spread the temples out more.

Next temple was East Mebon Temple.

The next temple is Pre Rup and it is very similar to East Mebon just much higher … more climbing.

Well that is the end of temples for me today.
Now I am supposed to be going on a sunset boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake. It is only early afternoon so it will not be sunset and the driver is now asking me for more money to take me there as it is far away. Yesterday he told me that we would be near there and he talked me into get a ticket. Tonle Sap Sunset Cruise $50 USD. He has manipulated me and I am not happy. I told him that I would not commit to paying extra but would think about it. He spent the rest of the day pleading poverty. He really annoyed me. I considered cancelling my third day with him and just paying for the two days. I was feeling that I could not wait for my time with him to be over.
Anyway his name is Leng and he waits at the bus station for customers. Beware … very manipulative.
I am starting my floating village and tonle sap lake tour on a new post.
