Day 4 Mui Ne

I have the flu so did not do much yesterday (my day 3 in Mui Ne). I walked during the day and went out for a meal in the evening. I also got my laundry done.

I went to Backstage Bar and Grill and ordered a mango dacquiri which was so yummy that I ordered a second one. It was so thick with mango purée, strong alcohol and ice … they were quite strong so I decided to take my food to go - I ended up eating it this morning. Burger and fries … it wasn’t that good but the dacquiri is worth going back for.

Oh I forgot that I also went out for lunch yesterday to one of the seafood restaurants along the street with an ocean balcony. Great location but I ordered onion omelette, which I sent back as it tasted like it had been cooked in old fish oil. The chef came to the table and assured me that it had been cooked with fresh oil … anyway they did not charge me for it which was a bonus.

Today I had to move to my new accommodation, Irini Guest House. I got a grab cab. This place is certainly a lot more run down than their booking photos. They have a sign up in reception saying ”no food allowed in the rooms”. If I had known this I would not have booked. Anyway the view from my private balcony is helping alleviate other issues.

The boats are lots of pretty colours that are not showing in the photo. As I sit here writing this I am enjoying watching the fishing boats as they start up their engines and chug out to wherever they are going. The little round boats look interesting. There is also a rowing team practising, going back and forth in front of me … I think of my nephew Duke as I watch them.

So after I got to my accommodation I went out for a walk to try and find a pharmacy to get some medicine for flu. I am going on a half day motorbike tour around Mui Ne tomorrow afternoon so I need to pull myself together.

I asked for medicine with coedine but that is not what they gave me … oh well was worth a try.

I also got some food and snacks … seeing as I am not allowed food in my room.

They are constructing a new wall feature and walking area further down the road … it looks like it will be nice when finished.

My view looks even better at night with the boats lit up.

I found a restaurant today that I thought I would try tonight … but it was closed. There is one other restaurant quite close and it has 5 stars. I went to look but it was totally empty … not a good sign so I gave it a miss.

I am not liking this location. The guest house where I am staying stated that they offered breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have put in an order for my included breakfast but I do not see any other food action. Maybe I will ask tomorrow. I am going out on an afternoon bike tour tomorrow which includes sunset so maybe I can get some advice re dinner.

I want to go back to my old guest house 😩 oh well ... it is all part of the adventure.
