Kuong Airport (Da Lat) to Hoi An

Checking in went fine except I was not allowed to have my laptop in my checked luggage. I therefore had to carry it with me everywhere making sure that I did not put it down and leave it … which I have been known to do.
My flight is with Vietnam Airlines and they seem very professional. I have recently had a flight cancelled by Vietjet Airlines so I am a bit cold on them. Vietnam Airlines is currently my airline of choice in this part of the world. There is so much room in these seats and the leg room is great. So much more room than any plane I have flown on recently.
I was sat beside a European English speaking person but we did not converse … I was not in the right headspace for chatting. We acknowledged each other and that was about it. Usually when I fly I just need to internalise to have the strength to get through.
So the taxi on the runway was so rough and the plane shook a lot but I told myself it was just the runway surface and not the plane.
They offered us water and a towlette pack as we climbed into the air. It was supposed to be a 1 hour and 30 minute flight so I was a bit freaked out when they went into a deep decent after about 45 minutes … were they trying to avoid weather … nobody else seemed concerned. The fast decent continued and the pilot announced our imminent arrival into Da Nang. I guess everything is ok … I have no control anyway so just have to go with it.
We landed fine … no problems. A bus took us from the plane to the terminal … we were jam packed in … I protected my bag.
My bag was pretty much on the carousel when I got there … I really dislike Asians at baggage carousels. Anyway I shoved a few of them around to get my feelings across. Do not push me as I am 3 x your size.
I had previously arranged an Airport pick up to take me to my homestay in Hoi An.
I recommend Nguyen Binh for pick up. 250000 vnd $15.40 aud from Da Nang Airport to Hoi An. After I had booked Nguyen Binh my Homestay contacted me offering pick up for 280000 vnd … I got a good deal.
When I arrived at the Homestay Vicki, the homestay mother, agreed that I did get a good price and her only concern was that some people pay up to 600000 vnd for the same trip. Just be weary. Anyway my trip was amazing … my name was on a board when I left the departure hall … that was a first for me 😀

Anyway I recommend Mr Nguyen Binh for a very professional service.
I was welcomed at Melody Boutique Homestay with warm green tea and Vicki, the Homestay mother, asking me if I was hungry and what could she cook for me … was a lovely welcome.
Straight off she was also offering me help with tours.
I explained that I had just done 7 days of touring as an easy rider and really just needed some time to rest. Plus I think flying, even for a short trip, really exhausts me.
My room is lovely … has two double beds and even has a full sized bath in the bathroom. More than I need really, just for me.
Vicki told me that she can make me food any time, except when she is sleeping, her words not mine. She has a menu that you can choose from.
After some rest I asked Vicki to make me some noodles with beef and vegetables. She also went shopping and bought me diet coke to stock my fridge. Anyway I am feeling cosy now … the noodles were very yummy.
After dinner Vicki made me a herbal tea so that I could sleep well.
I feel loved here 😀❤️
Highly recommended Melody Boutique Villa, Hoi An
