Day 7 Hoi An

I am just going to write off day 6 in Hoi An as I just worked on my website all day. I needed to as I am about to take off on new adventures and had things to finish off.

As easily as I can write off yesterday I can not write off the beef and noodles with fresh garden vegetables that Homestay Mama made for me. I think that our shared love of garden to table has strengthened our bond. Even after serving she ran out to the garden to get me fresh chillies … warning me that they were hot, but they were good.
After my home cooked breakfast this morning I got a grab bike to An Bang Beach. It is my last day in Hoi An and the weather is better so I feel the need to get out and about.

The weather is nicer at the beach today and there are more people about. There is a life guard present but still a sign advising not to swim. There are people renting surfboards so I do not know how that gets around the rules.
There is a gym station just in front of the beach … just incase you are worried about getting your work out in. I have no idea about the cost but surely it is cheap. There is even a healthy juice and smoothie bar attached. It all looks a bit rustic. I saw the street vendor ladies who hassled me the other day … they say hello but otherwise leave me alone.

If you look closely at my photograph of An Bang Beach you can see Da Nang City in the background. I am heading to Da Nang tomorrow for 2 nights before flying to Ho Chi Minh City.
At An Bang Beach I also saw a wedding. I hovered around outside for a while but no one asked me in. I have heard from other travellers that they sometimes get asked in … maybe they had enough guests … it certainly looked like it … it was going off.

After An Bang Beach I got a grab bike into Hoi An Ancient Town to visit the markets.

Ok so I see this temple and I am excited to see mosaic work inside and think that I am going to go in. At the gate the attendants tell me that it is 120000 vnd and I need to buy my ticket up the road. So I hang around outside and can not see where she is referring to. I take one last look before moving on and she calls me in … 20000 vnd I can see now. It seems her colleague is not there now so we can do a deal. We do the deal and I can go in though it is just at the same time as a Korean tour group is arriving. I don’t like to be prejudice but these Koreans are everywhere.

Anyway I got a grab bike back to my Homestay. I had 3 grab rides today and the first was the scariest being a bit too fast .. the others were good.
I am home now and just updating my blog.
The children here are very cute … I got some envelopes today so that I can put some Tet money in there for them before I leave. They call this lucky money.

I took some photos in the room next to mine … as mine is messy.

The envelopes for Tet gifts are supposed to be red but this is all that I have. It’s the thought that counts.
