Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City

Today I am flying to Ho Chi Minh City as I am meeting Mr Qua of Mui Ne Easy Rider tomorrow to start a 5 day trip in the Mekong Delta area. Mr Qua will deliver me to the border at Ha Tien where I will cross over into Cambodia.
So I am pretty excited for the next few days. I am hoping to see some interesting bird life. My ideal would be to see a Saurus Crane but I won’t get my hopes up about that. Maybe this trip I can get more information and actually plan to see them in another trip.
Ok so I am currently at Da Nang Airport having sneaky vodka. I have bought some Burger King for my flight … I am in a happy place for my flight. I am actually on my 3rd vodka so hopefully everything will go seamlessly 😀.
I am actually feeling a bit merry now and that is probably good because I hate flying and Vietnam airlines has bumped me to a pacific airlines flight.
There were many fighter jets leaving da nang today ... I am hoping this was just an exercise and not issues that could affect my flight.
I am now waiting in the departure lounge and ate my burger king … it was so good. Actually it was very good.
My flight was good and I got a grab cab to my accommodation. My room has a balcony.

After some rest I decide to go out and look for some food. A wrong turn in the alleyways brings me out onto Bui Vien Walking Street.

I sat down at a street stall and had a beer … just watching the world go by. Do you see the guy eating fire? Do you see the lady in traditional dress with her private photographer. I watched for a while and then continued looking for dinner.

I find some food to take back to my room and then need to find the alley where I am staying … I do not want to end up lost again. Photographs below of the alley where I am staying.

I am glad that I arrived in the day time as I do not think that I would be happy walking down here for the first time at night. It looks so dodgy. Saying that it is dodgy … it did cost me $25 Aud for the night so not cheap cheap. I probably could have got something better further out of the city but I am familiar with this area so decided to come back. Too much unknown can be a bit too much sometimes.
Anyway everything was good. Safe in my bed now.
